Dr Michael Talbot was Teaching Fellow in Ottoman History at the University of St Andrews, working on Ottoman-British diplomatic and commercial relations in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. He is now a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Paris 1 - Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Dr Phil McCluskey is Lecturer in the History of Early Modern Europe at the University of Sheffield, currently exploring the intellectual and social repercussions of French-Ottoman relations in the reign of Louis XIV.
